Londoners post thousands of messages of defiance

Tens of thousands of tweets flooded social media this morning with the hashtag #WeAreNotAfraid, as Londoners shared their defiance and stoicism in the face of the Westminster terror attack.

Thousands shared images of London carrying on as normal today, with commuters making their way to work and people walking the streets, refusing to be cowed by fear.

Many London Underground stations bore handwritten messages of solidarity on their notice boards this morning, with one in Richmond reading: “Bad things do happen in the world, but out of those situations always arise stories of ordinary people doing ordinary things.”
